Jaffa cake
Pronunciation: /ˈʤafəkeɪk/Definition of Jaffa cake:
noun
Britisha sponge biscuit with an orange-flavoured jelly and chocolate topping.
Abomination.
This is what happens when The Pope resigns.
Next there will huge rocks falling from the sky. Oh wait.
Before I take to my raining-toads underground shelter, I will prove, indisputably, the sweet morsel is a cake not a biscuit. In fact, that “sponge biscuit” is an oxymoron.

Well, I find myself agreeing with that, but that then puts me into conflict with the OED.
Now you must imagine me as Robbie the Robot being ordered to harm a human.
Oh Dear, I did just picture RtR and it doesn’t end well.
For anyone, especially Robbie. All that repair and reprogramming – just not Robbie any more.
Next time I just have to display how much of a smartarse I can be – I’ll try to think first.
Never put me in conflict with the OED.
aarrrgh, WTF… no no no noooo
rasberry, it’s the end of civilisation (as we know it).
And Robbie, all 3 laws would be broken… not to mention the FOP ‘prime directive’.
I have no problem with the ‘sponge biscuit’ description BUT ‘Jaffa’s’ are JAFFA!
Would you accept coffee flavoured Tim Tams as being ‘Tim Tams’? I think not.
The fact that ‘McVities’ (the ‘biscuit’ maker) tried to have the biscuit classified as ‘cake'(to avoid VAT) is characteristically Scottish. That also counts as evidence that they are in fact a Scottish product, therefore not subject to ‘english’ definition or (bastard) english taxes. What next, Black Pudding (also of questionable origin) is a ‘dessert’…?!
The debate over whether it is ‘cake’ or ‘biscuit’ is entirely scottish, it’s the ‘Jaffa’ part of the name that says NO (on any level)
jaffa = orange, end of debate!
What do you aussies roll down the aisle at the movies ‘rassas’?!
Well, exactly – ‘jaffa’ comes from the jaffa orange, which comes from Jaffa. Jaffa does not, as far as I’m aware, grow raspberries.
Ye can take oor freedom, but ye cannae take oor ‘JAFFAS’
it is made of No.
